JESSICA PALTER

Chief Legal Officer

I hold both common law and civil law degrees from the McGill Faculty of Law and completed an exchange at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po, Paris) in the Masters in Economic Law Program. Before law school, I earned my B.A. Hons from the University of Toronto with a Specialist in International Relations and a Major in Criminology.

As Chief Legal Officer of Purpose Unlimited, I am responsible for all company legal matters. I joined Purpose in 2016 and work on a broad range of matters, including strategic initiatives, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, and shareholder matters. I also oversee the legal and compliance group responsible for the legal matters impacting Purpose’s operating entities, including Purpose Investments, Purpose Advisor Solutions, and Driven Financial Technologies.

Before joining Purpose, I was a member of the Corporate Group at Torys LLP, with a legal practice focusing primarily on mergers & acquisitions (public and private) and corporate finance.

I am passionate about competitive sport, particularly triathlon, where I have competed in all event distances, including the full-distance Ironman.
